Fashion Friday - Turns Out That's a Thing!

Last Friday I posted an outfit of the day blog, and today thought "Hey, maybe I'll do that every Friday."  I see hashtags for different "events" all week long, like #transformationtuesday, #whatiworewednesday, #throwbackthursday, and wondered what there was for Friday.  It turns out that #fashionfriday is a thing, and I've decided to add it to my blog.

I love fashion...like really love it.  When I was a little girl I would cut pictures out of magazines and make poster boards.  One of my bucket list items is to go to shows at Fashion Week in New York. I also dreamed of being a fashion designer, and for whatever reason, never pursued that career option.  That doesn't stop me from loving clothes, shoes, handbags, or jewelry any less.  What I really hate though is spending money.  Call me cheap, frugal, practical, whatever, but it has to be something pretty amazing (like a handbag or a great pair of shoes) for me to spend very much money on it.  The thought of spending a lot of money on trendy fashion items pains me greatly, so I just don't do it often.  I am really particular about quality and fit, so I look long and hard to find great stuff.  When I find things I love, I tend to buy every color that I can.

I found this dress while shopping for our recent cruise (posts here, here, here, and here) and wasn't sure I liked it.  I wore it on the trip and fell in love with it.  It is really comfortable, and it can be dressed down or up.  I came home and bought it in black as well.  Today I had errands to run and it is beautifully warm outside.  I threw on my striped dress, one of my favorite pair of comfortable shoes, and a matching scarf.  Easy, comfortable, and cute!

Striped dress - Old Navy
Shoes - Sperry Top-Sider - Older style, but similar here
Scarf - Jones New York - Older style

Also, this is happening today.  Sometimes she is so cute that I think I might just die.  And seriously, elephant pants?  I couldn't pass them up.
Shirt - H&M
Pants & Shoes - Walmart - Purchased in store, can't find them online
